Personally, cards are my favorite part of gift-giving. I think that a small, thoughtful message, makes the gift so much more personal, and making the card yourself makes it even more special. I used to love making cards for my friends on my computer when I was younger, just using Microsoft Word, but I eventually stopped doing it because it was a bit time consuming. This year for my best friend’s birthday, I decided to go back to that tradition of making the card instead of buying it, and went to Pinterest for some inspiration. I found this really cute and simple birthday card design, and I loved the end result!
I used scrapbook paper for the card itself, as well as the little flags that I used as decoration. You will need to cut out 5 flags (one for each letter in “happy”) and five circles which will be placed on top of the flags. You will be writing “happy” on these circles.
Glue each circle onto a flag. Then, cut a string and tie a bow at each end.
Finally, it’s time to put the card together. Glue each flag a little more than halfway up the face of the card and glue the string along the tops of the flags. I used my hot glue gun, but any other craft glue should work.
Finally it’s time to add some lettering! I liked the simple writing that they used on the example from Pinterest, but feel free to get fancy!
Voilà! A cute birthday card that is perfect for all ages!
