The Beauty of Belieze

Palm trees on the beach

Back from Belize and back to reality. All semester I was anxiously awaiting winter break because I couldn’t contain my excitement about going to Belize with my family.┬áThis trip was extra special to me because it was a place that my grandma loved and somewhere she visited quite often. She passed away over the summer and we thought this would be a great trip to remember her by. She was very passionate about traveling and wanted us to experience the world as well. After my grandmother retired as an ophthalmologist, she would spend weeks at a time in Belize exploring, and even providing eye exams to people there who couldn’t afford them. She had seen the world, yet still always seemed to find her way back to Belize, so I thought it must be a pretty special place.

Fun in Philly

Magic Gardens, Philadelphia

Last year, for Spring Break, my best friend and I decided to stay in Philadelphia for a few days. Both of us had previously visited the city, but we both decided it was a place we wanted to explore further. In order to save money, we decided to use CityPASS, which allows you to access multiple attractions as well as a bus that runs through the city for a discounted price. I recommend looking into these kinds of deals when visiting any major city because you can find some pretty good deals and the bus can be really helpful!

We started our trip by going to the Magic Gardens, which is an art museum and gallery. I highly recommend coming here if you’re in Philadelphia. There’s so much to look at! We walked through the whole thing a few times and I would still┬álove to go back.

DIY Rock Art Wall Decor

Rock art

This super simple rock art would look great on a shelf or hanging on the wall of a bedroom, office, or living area. It’s also a great gift for a friend!

This rock art was another Pinterest inspired project. To start, take any picture frame and put a piece of scrapbook paper where you would put the picture and take the glass out.

All About Adventures in Costa Rica

View of San Jose

A few years ago I had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica with a group of people from my high school and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had! It was the second trip I had been on with EF Tours and was filled with so much adventure. Some of the activities I was a bit nervous to participate in leading up to the trip, but when traveling I always find myself thinking, “When will I ever get the chance to do this again?” and just go for it! I don’t have pictures of everything because I couldn’t carry a camera during some of the more adventurous activities, but I can still show you some of the highlights and tell you about the rest.

DIY, Pinterest-Inspired Birthday Card

Birthday card

Personally, cards are my favorite part of gift-giving. I think that a small, thoughtful message, makes the gift so much more personal, and making the card yourself makes it even more special. I used to love making cards for my friends on my computer when I was younger, just using Microsoft Word, but I eventually stopped doing it because it was a bit time consuming. This year for my best friend’s birthday, I decided to go back to that tradition of making the card instead of buying it, and went to Pinterest for some inspiration. I found this really cute and simple birthday card design, and I loved the end result!

DIY Succulent Planters

Succelent PlanterSucculents are the perfect dorm decor to give a little life to your room. My roommate and I LOVE succulents and currently have a collection of 13 of them. They all came in little clay pots, so we decided to get a little crafty and paint some of them, and I thought I’d show you a couple of my faves that I made.

I used acrylic paint and didn’t use a sealer because I plan on keeping them inside. If you plan on keeping your succulents outside, I would recommend applying a clear sealant after painting your planters.

1. Body Shop Moringa Body Butter

This body butter has been an essential of mine as the air has gotten much cooler and drier. I love the formula of these body butters because they are very thick and moisturizing, but not too greasy. I especially love the smell of this one. If you love floral scents, this is perfect for you!

Working Woman: A Mix of Business Casual and Formal Styles

As a business school student, internships have consumed my life for the last few years. I am now on my fourth internship and have therefore built up somewhat of a work-wear wardrobe, but when I first started I wasn’t sure where to shop or how much it was worth investing in these clothes. I started by mostly shopping at Old Navy and H&M, but as I am graduating in May, and will now be wearing business attire almost every day, I am looking to fill my wardrobe will better quality pieces that will last. As I am making this wardrobe transition, Zara has become one of my new favorite stores and LOFT and Ann Taylor are also on my radar as future places to shop.

Sun, Sea, and Sand: Rhode Island and Connecticut Vacation

Picture of boats in the water

Every summer my mom’s side of the family gets together for a family vacation. This summer, our destination was Westerly, Rhode Island. We don’t all get together very often because we live all over the place, so I always get so excited for our trip every year! Also, I had never been to Rhode Island before, so it was exciting to experience a new destination.
